The 18th Amendment had banned the sale, transportation and manufacture of alcohol in America.Huge market for what in the 1920’s was an illegal commodity.

Many gangs members was smugglers that bought alcohol into the country. They had to do these things because of the 18th amendment.


Al capone was a gang member who made millions of dollars off of selling alcohol.

He was the most famous one from Chicago. He owned many illegal bars that people came to at night.
