Happy New Year Chisholm Chargers!
We would like to welcome any new students and their families to Chisholm and are excited to have you in our school family. As you transition into our building and the A/B learning model, please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions.
As we resume school for the 2nd semester, please continue to contact the school or email Mrs. Wartley, our assistant principal and Covid Captain, if you have any concerns with Covid exposures or positive cases. Ms. Wartley will be able to direct your questions through our established protocols in an effort to minimize the impact. The district is closely monitoring cases on a weekly basis and using that information to make decisions moving forward.
If you would like to be included in the Edmond Public Schools Text Messaging System, please text "Yes" to 67587. Once you have opted in, you will be able to receive information regarding emergency announcements, school announcements, and transportation issues, which could be applicable to your students.
Chisholm lost the 2nd round IXL match with Frontier Elementary during the month of December by 3,932 questions. We had a very spirited, back and forth match over the course of the month, and our students answered 234, 458 questions during December. Chisholm students have done a spectacular job working with IXL since the start of the year answering 1,244,823 questions. Even though we lost out on moving forward in the tournament, we are still in contention of being one of the top schools for total questions with the possibility of reaching 2,000,000 questions by the end of March.
Thank you again for all your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we navigate through this extraordinary school year. The students and staff have done an amazing job adhering to guidelines and we will work hard to help maximize everyone's safety as we navigate through this pandemic.
Student Technology Protection Plan - Deadline to purchase for 2nd semester is January 15th
The Edmond Public Schools Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) has been established to give parents the option to purchases protection covering the repair or replacement costs of the technology package. The cost of the protection plan for each semester is $12.50 per student device.
Families are strongly encouraged but not required to participate in this voluntary program. Payments for the protection plan will be accepted online via the In-Touch payment system from now through January 15th, 2021. The plan is effective from the date of purchases through the last day of school.
You may send the money with your student(s) to school or you can access and pay through the district InTouch, which can be accessed through our district website.
If accessing through the website, please go to edmondschools.net and search the word, InTouch. You may log into your student's account directly by using your student's District ID number as the username and your student's last name for the password with the first letter capitalized (i.e. Smith).
The STPP only applies to the student device. Charging cables are not included in the coverage.
A new year can bring new goals. This is a great time to reflect on what went well in 2020. With your student, you can discuss something they want to do differently this year. Work together to make a short-term goal. Once they reach their goal, celebrate together and add to it! A helpful way to keep track of goals throughout the year is to create a timeline. This ensures that goals have an end-date, and encourages timeliness and continual growth! This will help motivate them to be successful for the remainder of the school year.
