Summary of Scene
This scene takes place in a street in Verona, at night. Romeo, Benvolio, Mercutio and a bunch of friends go to the Capulet's party. As they start walking, Romeo refuses to go to the party. This was because Romeo had a dream, and it was that he would die soon. Mercutio then tries to calm Romeo down, and gives a speech on Queen Mab. Romeo then gets over his dream, and continues to go to the party.
Song: Dreaming by Blondie
Explanation for song:
This song represents Romeo's thoughts about Juliet, and how much he "loves" her, before his nightmare. In the song it says "pleasure's real or is It fantasy?" This says, in terms of Romeo, is "can I really be with Juliet?" Also in Blondie it says "I never met him, I'll never forget him." This it shows how addicted Romeo is to Juliet, and its ironic because Romeo hasn't met her either. When Mercutio calms down Romeo after his nightmare, Romeo continues to go to the party. A lyric representing what Romeo is thinking at that moment is "Imagine something of your very own. Something you can have and hold." Meaning that he is going to the party to meet Juliet and forget about Rosaline.
