JMS Weekly Update
Week of 4.19.2020
Dear JMS Families,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about S@H. We have spent the last week reviewing what you and the children believe is going well and what could be better about S@H. We appreciate this information so that we can fine tune our online learning environment for the children.
We have included a list of Local Resources for Families in this week's update, as COVID -19 continues to impact our families and our community. These are unprecedented times. Please reach out to any of these organizations if you are in need of assistance.
We (parents, students, teachers) are all working hard to do the best we can. We are here to support you. Thank you again for your patience and support as we continue with S@H. Do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher(s) or myself and Mr. Zeiders with questions.
Take Good Care,
Dr. Sarah Shaw, Principal
Mr. Jeff Zeiders, Assistant Principal

JMS Lit Mag - Our Piece of Mind
Mrs. Kelly is in the process of finishing up our Lit Mag. We are no longer accepting submissions for this year's magazine. However, we are accepting pieces for selection for next year's magazine through the end of this school year!
6th and 7th Graders - if you create anything that makes you smile, knocks your socks off, brings tears to your eyes, gets you giggling, scares you a bit (appropriately so, of course), or warms your heart, please submit to the Lit Mag.
To submit a piece of work:
- Share the document with Mrs. Kelly.
- Write "Lit Mag Submission" or "Submit to Lit Mag" for the subject or message attached.
Other Information
Items in Lockers
We know that your children may still have items in their lockers. Once our Stay at Home/Social Distancing orders have been lifted and we are able to open the buildings again, we will share information about how to retrieve items from lockers.
Students will be considered "present" at school each day unless an Absence Excuse is submitted by the parent by 8:30 am on the day(s) in which the student will not be able to participate in the instruction. Make-up of student work as a result of an excused absence will be consistent with District policy.
Families wanting to borrow technology equipment from the District during this time may request a Chromebook for their family using the following form:
Once you receive your unique family code (e.g. ABCD) from your submission of the Initial Request Form, you may request additional Chromebooks and/or a portable WiFi access point from the District using the following form:
- Supplemental Equipment Request Form
- (You will need your family code to complete this form)
If you have any questions and/or concerns about your District issued equipment please email FIDSupport@mtlsd.net
