Valentine's Day

On Thursday, February 11th we will have a small classroom celebration for Valentine's Day. A list of names went home on Friday. Due to our new district policy, Please do not send in treats. This includes candy cards.

This month our reading focus will be about communities and neighborhoods. Our key vocabulary words are: map, symbol. compass. and landmark. We will also talk about customs and traditions. The student enjoyed reading the book "Duck for Turkey Day" by Jacqueline Jules. This book illustrated that we all celebrate holidays differently.

In math we started our unit on Place Value. We will use unifix cubes and rods to help count our tens. We will learn to count up to 120. On Wednesday February 10th we will celebrate our 100th day of school. We have some fun activities planned to help us count up to 100.
