CRES Fest Silent Auction
CRES Fest is a few months away, but believe it or not, the planning has already begun! The Silent Auction Committee is looking for people to volunteer their time and join the team. Whether you are willing to make phone calls or send emails to businesses to solicit donations, you have a passion for entering data into the auction bidding site or you are able to be a runner and pick items up from local businesses, no job is too small. We need your help! Please consider joining this amazing group – together we are a stronger team!
Our first meeting as a team will be soon – stay tuned for a date to be announced. Interested in joining the Silent Auction Committee or need more information? Please email cumberlandroadelementarypto@gmail.com.
Next Open Forum Meeting
Please note that there will be no Open Forum meeting in December. Our next PTO Open Forum Meeting will be Tuesday, January 3rd at 7:00pm. Please mark your calendars to attend – free childcare will be provided by the YMCA in the gym. We hope to see you there!

Dear Cumberland Road Families
This year staff and students have been learning about Emmanuel’s Dream (our ONE book, ONE school focus). In doing so, we have made a partnership with the Joseph Maley Foundation. The Joseph Maley Foundation (JMF) has a lot of programs that they use to serve the community. Cumberland Road has chosen their disABILITY Awareness Program. Acceptance through respect, empathy, and kindness is the core message of disABILITY Awareness. Throughout the program, students recognize the abilities of all individuals. This in turn brings organic friendship built on understanding for the similarities and differences that exist between all of us, as unique individuals.
Please see the attached flyer for more information!
A student with a temperature measuring 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater will be sent home from school. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to make arrangements for their student’s transportation home. The student must remain fever free for (24) twenty-four hours without the aid of medication before returning to school. Our goal is to keep students, staff, and family members that may have compromised immune systems healthy.
Any student that has vomited or had diarrhea due to illness must stay home from school. Any student who exhibits viral symptoms while at school or on a school sponsored field trip will be evaluated by the school nurse, or an accompanying teacher. If the student is believed to have an illness, that student will be required to leave school, or the school sponsored field trip.
Students sent home from the school clinic for the above reasons are expected to stay home for the 24 hour period and not return to school the next morning. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this HSE policy, please contact me via phone or email. Let’s all have a healthy school year!
