Harappan Culture
The housing suggests that social divisions in the society were not great. Artifacts such as clay and wooden toys suggest a relatively prosperous society that could to afford to produce nonessential goods.
Trade
The Harappans conducted a thriving trade with peoples in the region. Gold and silver came from the north in Afghanistan. Stones from Persia and the Deccan Plateau were crafted for trade. The Indus River provided a great transportation for trade.
