Message From Your Principal - Mrs. Beth Richardson
Hello Ridgeview families,
It is really hard to believe that we are seeing Back to School supply sales popping up around town! We hope that your student has had a restful summer and is ready to come back to us and eager to learn. We are still in the process of finalizing schedules and getting the school looking top notch for our August 16th return date. We are currently planning on having an in person schedule pick up, please see the information below with more specific details. We are in the process of updating our website so please be patient as we are working on that, and follow our newsletter and social media accounts for continual updates. We are very excited and will be introducing many of the new faces you will see in the office and building in the upcoming newsletters.
We look forward to working with you and your family to make this school year fantastic for all our Ridgeview families.

ARP ESSER PLAN:STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND FEEDBACK OPPPORTUNITIES
One important piece of this plan is as follows:
For the 2021-2022 school year, the District will allow parents to make the optional choice for their students to wear masks, and we do not anticipate requiring them unless the Governor's orders, or additional orders from the Department of Health, require us to do so. We also know the physical distancing of 3 feet or more is not possible with fully in-person instruction. But we will still encourage and use our protocols for frequent hand-washing, cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, and other mitigation protocols.
The page also includes information on how the District proposes to expend funds over the next 3-4 school years.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 7TH GRADE/NEW STUDENTS
According to Board Policy 5320 and 5320 AG, immunizations in compliance with state law and the Ohio Department of Health are required for each student unless the parent(s) file an objection. The Board of Education also requires tuberculosis examinations in compliance with law.
Students new to Pickerington Schools must present written evidence of similar immunizations, or written evidence to indicate that they are in the process of receiving immunizations, to be completed no later than the day of entrance. Students failing to complete immunizations with 14 days after entering are not permitted to return to school.
The Franklin County Health Department offers immunization clinics throughout the school year. An up-to-date schedule is available on the Franklin County Public Health Website.
Please feel free to contact our School Nurse, Marcia Stewart at marcia_stewart@plsd.us.
PTO News
PTO is looking for Volunteers
The PTO is currently looking for volunteers for next school year. We also have Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable positions available. If you are interested or know someone who may be coming up from the middle school that is interested, please feel free to contact Catharyne Henderson at catharyneh@yahoo.com or Kelly Martin at kellykels01@hotmail.com for more information.
Odds and Ends
JUST SOME REMINDERS:
- Students should leave airpods/beats or other bluetooth devices such as those at home
- Students are reminded to turn cell phones off during the day and keep them in a safe place if they need to bring them to school. The district policy for K-8th grade is to have them off during school hours. We appreciate your support in this. If you need to reach your student, please contact the main office and we will have them come down to the office to call you.
- Students should bring a refillable water bottle to school as our water fountain mouth pieces have been turned off. We have bottle filling stations that they may use throughout the day. Students may also purchase a bottle of water through our vending machines for $1.25.
