"Team Work Makes the Dream Work!"
Attendance
As you have probably already heard, last Thursday the county was struggling to find subs for all of our teachers who were out due to illness. This led Dr. Beck to examine our sub line item. We are currently WAY over in our line item for sub costs because the sub numbers for this year have been double of what they were last year. So, per Dr. Beck, we will follow these guidelines for the remainder of the school year:
- If you want or need a sub, please contact me first BEFORE contacting Parallel. I will determine if a sub is needed. If a sub is not needed, you will NOT check the box for needing a sub.
- That means we will put classes together when we can.
- We will utilize our special forces teachers, assistants, school counselors, and academic specialists for coverage.
- I cannot approve any days before or after a holiday.
- Please only request to be off if it is absolutely necessary because it is highly likely that one of your co-workers will have to cover your classes rather than a sub.
Human Resources
Per Dr. Beth Batson, this is the time of year we post all positions on Skyward without specific locations in order to rebuild our application bank. Since our application bank is empty by this time of year, we have to recruit and rebuild it. Please be assured that there is no plan for any “sweeps” or anything of the like. Posts are simply to rebuild our applications.

Big shout out to Kim Nygren and Brittany Hardin for accepting the video self-reflection challenge! I still have 3 lunches to give away to the first person in the other grade levels who respond! I think you will take so much away from the experience - I know I did!
