What does statistics have to do with fashion merchandising?
Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing and interpreting quantitative data collected in a way that the conclusions can be evaluated in an objective way. It will be useful in your development of problem solving skills and is a prerequisite for Textile Testing (TXMI 3250), a required course in the Fashion Merchandising major.
They find out how much an average person spends on clothes, and what is selling in stores. They find out what is going to sell next year from the past years sales.
