Fall Creek Elementary

February 22-26 Week At A Glance

Science-We will observe, record, and discuss how materials can be changed by heating or cooling.


Word Study-We will be continuing to practice sight words, and also practice stretching new words to identify each sound we hear. We will also be blending words segmented by onset/rime (p/at, c/at, h/at, m/at, etc.) and learning about the digraphs /ch/ /sh/ and /th/.


Read Aloud- We will listen to different versions of drama and identify why/what makes it a drama. We will also be participating in classroom dramatic retelling of stories we have read.


Math- We will begin learning about subtraction by taking one away. We will learn about story problems in subtraction.


Shared Reading- We will begin reading poetry and exploring rhyme, rhythm, and repetition.


Writing- We will listen to poems read aloud and discuss why the author wrote it.
