POLISH IMMIGRANTS

1.Poland.
In the 1700's, soldiers from countries of Russia, Prussia and Austria came to Poland. Soldiers from each countries controlled parts of Poland, but the polish fought back for freedom but... in 1795, the rulers of the three countries controlled all parts of Poland. After that Poland couldn't do the things they wanted any more.
2.Leaving.
Polish immigrants came to America for freedom , to escape danger, good and cheaper land and there land was crowded with people. Lots of polish immigrants came to America from rumours and for better job's.
3.Coming.
The trip to the United States of America was the first time they ever left there village and went somewhere new. They went to trains to ports to get to Germany in order to catch a bout to America.
4.Jobs.
Most people from Poland got job's in America but they had to work for the hole day and got little money. Between 1870 and 1914, more than 2 million polish immigrants came to America and most of them were farmers. An interesting fact is in the late 1800's, factory's were very important to the polish immigrants.
5.Traditions.
Polish Americans enjoyed getting together and sharing there culture. They have dances such as the mazurka and the polonaise, also the polka is a poplar Poland dance!
6.Facts
- Poland immigrants lived together in a village and helped each other out.
- If there family is pore, they would make the kids work for money.
- People in Poland were being killed if they tried to do what they wanted.
- Fathers came to america for jobs and when they get money they give it to there wives so the they can come to america to.
7.My recipe.
The first thing you need for making polish sausage is...
- Two pounds of kielbasa sausage cut into 1 inch small pieces.
- Half a cup of brown sugar.
- One third cup of Worcestershire sauce.
- Two dashes of hot pepper sauce.
- One tablespoon of lemon juice fresh from the frig.
- Two thirds of a cup of water.
- And finally, one fresh chopped onion.
- take the K sausage and put it in a very large saucepan and make sure to pore water to cover and simmer over the low heat for at least one hour. After that, drain the water and get the sausage and put it aside but don't forget it.
- preheat oven to 350 degrees F and must be (175 degrees C).
- In the same saucepan combine the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, onion brown sugar, hot pepper sauce and water. Bring all to a boil and start stirring. Place the sausage from before in a 9x13-inch baking dish and cover it with the sauce mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour.
