No School Monday, Feb. 21 AND Feb. 28.
Art City Teacher of the Year: I am honored to announce that Mrs. Jamie Huston was nominated by her peers to represent Art City as our teacher of the year. Next month Mrs. Huston will be honored at board meeting and the Nebo Teacher of the Year will be announced.
Kindness Month: I am so impressed with the activities and and focus on kindness that our PTA has put together for our students. I wholeheartedly believe that problems in our world and society could be solved with kindness, understanding, benefit of the doubt and belief that people have good intentions. I am very grateful to our PTA for working so hard on Kindness Month and reminding everyone that kindness matters! I am really proud of our students and their increased efforts. The kindness chain, Val-O-Grams, food drive and positive words to each other is inspiring. What an amazing group of students we have at Art City!
The food drive was a HUGE success! Thank you parents for supporting our school and student council. The food collected will help many families. A huge thank you to parents who helped out every day.
February 17 is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. We are hoping to have some of our dads, uncles, grandpas, or other father figures sign up to come on this day from 11:40-12:20 and help us out. Please click the link below if you are able to come have some fun times at Art City! (Scroll down to Feb. 17 and choose "recess activity for Kindness Day")

Cold/Inclement Weather
Students will be expected to go outside at recess and lunch time unless the air quality is dangerous, the temperature is below 20 degrees or if it is raining or snowing heavily. If you wish for your child to stay indoors, please send a note with them and specify a reasonable time period for them to stay indoors. Being outdoors and having the opportunity to run and play is a much needed and healthy time of the school day.
