Need To Knows:
Google Site Training-- Being offered January 19th and 21st in our computer lab. If you do not have your website updated or completed you need to attend this training in order to have the website as a resource for you parents. When we go on our staff page your website should be linked to your photo. If you have not already emailed Ken Bailey to have this taken care of please do as soon as possible. Those teachers attending training can take care of this after you have your new website taken care of this month.
Ashley Patrick sent an email out to sign up for the training take time to check and take care of this need. Thank you!
CWG-- we will use one day and a half each month from this point out for two team members to re-evaluate rigor and relevance of the SLO's and look at assessments/scores to enter for Sheila and needed data points. Those team members that were a part of the curriculum camp last year will be taking these days to work on the SLO's for next year. We are focusing on rigor and relevance with the questions stems. We are also focused on what level the student is performing on as far as DOK. I will provide some reference materials for those participating and Sheila will be here as a resource those days. She will no longer be at CLT.
Retention Letters will be shared out for you to have ready to go out to parents on January 22nd. I know these are on the Share drive, but as I said Friday, I will upload them to Google also to share out.
MAP resource items-- be looking for information being shared with you for MAP resources. We will also look at time in February and March to have MAP practice in the lab for students.
RTI Committee members be looking for an email from me as to what days are good for us to meet this month and up to May. I am also working on getting a date set for us to visit another school to view RTI.
CLT -- Monday we will have Mrs. McCluskey to discuss Long Range Planning-- everyone be in the Music Room at 8:00, please. We start with Daniel from Reading Rewards to go over info for our kick off week.
Make sure if you have not to email or inform parents by Monday with this blurb-
"Parents! We have a great chance to earn some instructional material for our Classrooms! Please take a look at the READING REWARDS packet your students are bringing home and return them this coming week :)"
This begins on 1/11! Dave has made sure all copies and other items teachers need has been taken care of for this week. Thank you for you help and patience with this program.
Inclement Weather Day Info from Mrs. McCluskey:
We have these options to utilize if there is bad weather.
1. Snow Day- PLEASE tell you staff and coaches, a snow day is a day off from school and a day NEEDED by our maintenance and custodians to get rid of the snow so we can have school. (I know Mr. Wetrich and crew would appreciate this consideration even on snowy weekends) Coming in and/or having practice first thing is a pain because you are putting cars right where we need to remove snow. You are packing down the snow making it harder to remove- STAY AWAY at least for the morning. Please encourage your custodians to come in. We need them for snow removal.
2. Early Out- We feed lunch if at all possible so we try to make this call by 10am. Work hard to get everyone out and home as soon as possible after dismissal.
3. Late Start- We start 2 hours later than normal time. Our buildings are open and we let kids in. Buses run two hours late. This option gives us more time for conditions to get better or at least we feel running buses in daylight will assist. Your building will need someone to supervise the kids that come in.
1 secretary to answer phones, unless we want both ladies in to help if we feel phones will be hectic, and if we feel we will have a large amount of students we will need 2 adults for supervision to ever 50 students.
Your certified staff is expected to come in one hour later than normal time. This is a courtesy for our certified staff families and for the many staff members who drive in from other communities. We will serve an easy breakfast like cereal or something similar to those coming in that want it.
4. Snow Routes- We only have 10% of our students living out in the country but they are the ones that seem to depend the most on the buses. Please be understanding with these parents. We can only do what we can do if we cant get buses down gravel roads and they can only do what they can do to get them to school. They are our partners.

- Have you had plenty of contact with parents if you have students you are concerned about? Do not let parents be surprised!! Retention Letters go home January 22nd. You will share these with me prior in Google. Please have these shared by January 18th. I will make sure to get that out to you tonight or Monday. If I have any questions we will meet.

We will collect two more data probes for CWG.
After Retention Letters go home: Retention meetings need to start taking place…I must be there, so make sure you check my calendar and let me know when the meeting with be. It may be at a conflicting time with another one, so the first one that tells me is the one who is booked. Thank you!
Next Round-- Progress Reports go out February 12th. Please make sure you are explaining, explaining, and over explaining each student’s progress on progress reports and grade cards. It is much better to OVER explain than to not explain enough. We need to make sure our parents know exactly where their children are and that they know what specific skills they have been working on and what skills they will be working on in the future. If students are struggling in areas, please make sure you are giving tips and strategies for parents to use at home as well.
