K-6 ELA Program Review/Open House
As our contract with McGraw Hill (Wonders) comes to a close, the District Literacy Committee is in the process of exploring new K–6 ELA programs. We are committed to selecting a program that is in line with the newly updated state core standards and that will meet the needs of K – 6 students and educators across the district. As part of this review process, we invite all teachers, administrators, and members of the community to explore each of the 3 programs being considered. Materials will be on display and available for review from 1:30pm – 3:30pm on Friday, May 13th at the GLC. A survey will be available for you to give feedback and share your insights on each of the programs being considered. We value your input and hope to see you on May 13th at the GLC!

Bite-sized PD from Innovative Learning: Chrome Tip
This week's quick tip makes sharing websites with students, families, and colleagues easier than ever! In the Chrome browser, notice the share icon at the end of the address bar (looks like a page with an up arrow in it, right next to the star to bookmark the page). Using that "sharrow," you can copy the link or even send it to another of your devices. But they also recently added the option to create a QR code. Click that option to create and download a QR code that you can then share in a slide presentation or on a flyer to make it easy for your audience to get to any website.
Students Demonstrate “Super Powers” in Middle School Battle of the Books
Just before Spring Break, Dixon and Centennial Middle School went head to head in the yearly Battle of the Books district competition! They listened to quotes and were asked questions about the 16 different book titles they read as a team. The team that came in first place with the most correct answers this year was Centennial’s “Guild of Geeks”! Congratulations to both teams for their outstanding sportsmanship and knowledge of the books they read! Watch for next year’s list to be released before the end of May!
