Boxtop News
Here are our monthly box top winners. Each child won $3.00 to spend at our school store!
Battle of the Books
8 hard-working students participated in the District Battle of the Books at SMS Literacy Night on 2/19.
Team 1: Keaton P., Breckin B., Boston S., and Edyn L.
Team 2: Miquel C., Gabby R., Delaney B., and Erica S.
Our Team 2 took 5th place out of 12 teams. Our readers always do their best! It really came down to the fastest response times, as the correct answer was coupled with response times to determine the top scores.
The highest scoring team from each school will be participating in the WEMTA State Battle of the Books next week. This competition will be online here at school. Team 2 will be representing Bryant. Wish them well!
Thank you to Mrs. Jones for all that you do to help our eager Blizzard readers!

A Message from Mrs. Hennessey
During Counselor we have been talking about the way that we talk to ourselves. When we talk really crumby to ourselves it makes it almost impossible to feel better or even overcome a challenge. I like to highlight the calming strategy positive self-talk because we can use it no matter where we are. And research supports how it can help us feel empowered or keep going even when it gets tough. And really, it does get tough and we have to find ways to get through it!
Kids often tell me that even when they don't feel positive or can't think of the good stuff, they do have other people's voices that they can hear and feel encouraged. Kudos to you for giving them those affirmations! Here are some other ways we can all help.
