Hansen Fall Festival
The Fall Festival is tomorrow! The weather forecast looks great, and we are looking forward to one of our biggest community events of the year! There will be plenty of games, entertainment, raffles, and a silent auction with all money raised going to our CAPT in direct support of our school and students. The Festival runs from 10:00 - 3:00, and we hope to see ALL of our students and families tomorrow for this wonderful event!
STEAM Week!
Next week (October 21 - 25), the Canton Public Schools are excited to take part in STEAM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). The theme of Massachusetts STEAM Week is 'See Yourself in STEAM' and students in grades PreK-4 will be introduced to various STEAM careers and Grade 5 will be acting as scientists as they conduct a hands-on week about ecosystems. The goals for the week are for students to learn about various career paths in STEAM fields, to see themselves working in STEAM fields, and to have fun in the process. Hansen teachers, with the support of our Pre-K - 5 Stem Coordinator, Ms. Donovan, have worked to prepare various activities and we are looking forward to STEAM week and continuing these themes and activities with students throughout the year and as we move forward!
Bus Evacuation Drill
A friendly reminder, on this upcoming Monday, October 21 we will hold a bus evacuation drill with all students. Each grade level will be invited to the cafeteria to review bus rules and safety information before boarding our town bus, which will be parked in the driveway. Students will then be assisted in exiting the bus through the rear door. We anticipate each grade level needing about 20 minutes to participate before returning to their usual classroom routines. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!
Donate Your Extra Candy!
As we have in the past, the Hansen School is partnering with an older Canton student to collect any extra or leftover Halloween candy that will be donated to children currently at Dana Farber. From November 1 - November 8, a bin will be available in the Main Lobby at the school and we will gladly accept any leftover, wrapped candy. Please plan ahead and we hope you consider donating if you are able!
