Hiawatha Elementary
Week of March 15th
D100 School Closures
Based on the most recent information on COVID-19 and to safeguard the health and wellness of students, staff, and the community, District 100 schools will be closed to students beginning Monday, March 16th through Tuesday, March 31st. Communication regarding Spring Break will follow and we will reevaluate the COVID-19 situation at that time and communicate with our families.
Hiawatha School will be open on Monday, March 16th during regular school hours for any parents who need to pick up important items, such as medications or other personal belongings. Please call the school office if you need to come to school to get any supplies. 708-795-2327
District 100 has applied for approval with the state to be able to distribute lunches to students when schools are closed. We will continue to update the community when we receive more information. In addition, Comcast is offering free internet service through an offer beginning Monday, March 16. We encourage families without internet access to consider taking advantage of this offer.
On Monday our staff will be working on updating their PowerLearning pages and providing e-learning resources for our students to continue to learn at home. Reminder you can find your student’s classroom teacher by going on our website and clicking under Staff Directory to find their name and link.
As more information becomes available I will keep you informed. Stay healthy and if anytime you need support or have any questions please feel free to contact myself or Mr. Gonzalez.
