The mission of Carman-Buckner Elementary School is to provide a positive and safe learning environment where children are accepted, welcomed, and challenged to reach their full potential in educational, social, and cultural development.

Review of Mission & Vision and Agenda for the day (Ms. Lichtenstein)
2) 1:30 PM- 2:30 PM:
Roles: Team Leaders & ILT will act as co-facilitators to guide the process.
One co-facilitator will lead the discussion, and the other will be a scribe to collect staff responses.
I. Write three words that come to mind on a sticky note about personal responsibility. (Put this away).

V. Process for Protocol
a) Introduce leaders of each group/ Leaders will stand next to their group number while we review protocol procedures.
b) First Round- TL: Reads the group directions and then gives each team member 2 minutes to select a sentence that they think/feel is particularly significant and prepare to explain why.
TL: Has each team member read their sentence aloud, and the team leader repeats it, while the Scribe writes the sentence. The TL will prompt the team member to explain why. (No other members should contribute at this time).
This process repeats until all members have had a chance to respond. Each member has 1 min to share their reasoning as to why the team member found it significant. (10 Min)
c) Second Round: TL: Reads the group directions and then gives each team member 1 minute to select a phrase that they think/feel is particularly significant. The phrase may be from the sentence they already chose in Round 1 or it may be a phrase developed from further thinking shared by Team Members in Round 1.
TL: Has each team member read their phrase aloud, and the team leader repeats it, while the Scribe writes the phrase.
This process repeats until all members have had a chance to share their phrases. (4-5 Min).
d) Third Round: Reads the group directions and then gives each team member 1 minute to select a word that they think/feel is particularly significant. The word may be from the phrase they already chose in Round 2, or it may be a word developed from further thinking shared by Team Members in Round 2.
TL: Has each team member read their word aloud, and the team leader repeats it, while the Scribe writes the word.
This process repeats until all members have had a chance to share their words. (2 Min).
e) Discussion Processing: (10 Min)
The TL will lead a discussion with each question 1 by 1; the scribe will summarize each person's response to each question on the chart paper.
Question 1) What did you hear from others, what new insights have you gained about the text by looking at it in this way?
Question 2) What do you think this text is essentially about?
f) Leads each group's TL to share the group responses from the Discussion Processing, using follow-up questioning, and to make connections between each group response to connect to the idea of PA (Silva) (10 Min)

Teachers will complete the Process Through the Standards (PTS) Documents for Unit 4 LIT/SS & LIT/SCI. & Unit 4 LIT/SS & LIT/SCI Planning Documents. Ensure your documents are posted in the Principal Google Classroom.
