HYBRID MODEL
We are returning to a hybrid model on February 22nd for our SPECIAL POPULATIONS. The schedule is below for you. Our special populations include students on an individual educational plan (IEP), EL program, non-internet, and McKinney Vento (homeless) programs. This group also includes students who had two or more F or I grades for first semester. If our covid rates continue to go down, we hope to transition all of our students to the hybrid model soon.
Students will go to school two days a week:
Student last name A - K: Monday/Tuesday
Student last name L - Z: Thursday/Friday
A survey was sent to you to complete about whether or not you want your student to return to the hybrid model. If you have not done so, please complete the survey.

Academic Support Hybrid Model:
Students will attend in person support classes (optional) from 7:40 - 9:25 a.m. and will participate in Google Meets from 11:45 a.m. - 2:10 p.m. Direct instruction will continue to take place during Google Meets and academic support will be provided during the in person student time.

VIRTUAL COLLEGE TOURS
COVID has complicated the college visit process, but virtual visits are a safe alternative. Online tours and info sessions help bridge the gap when students can’t check out a campus in person.
- Many colleges are offering virtual tours on their websites. The Washington GEAR UP program has compiled a list of online college tours that will be updated as more sites add these resources.
- GEAR UP also offers a series of virtual campus visits. These video presentations highlight colleges across the state, including a number of public and private four-year universities and two-year community and technical colleges.
LIBRARY HOURS
The library is open on Mondays and Fridays from 8-10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.

Mondays/Fridays 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

How to Access Lessons in Xello
Class of 2021:
There are 7 required lessons to complete in Xello. It is extremely important that students have current information especially in the experiences section and goals. When they ask teachers for letters of recommendation, the teachers will ask students to share their Xello profile with them, as they will be able to easily pull information from there to include in the letter.
Classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024:
Once you log into the program, scroll down to lessons, and complete the Inventory Review Lesson. This will be a huge help as the data we gather from the assessments in Xello, your saved career clusters in Xello, and saved Careers of interest will be used to assist us in developing courses for next year to better meet your needs.
TEACHER OFFICE HOURS
Don't forget teachers are available by email. Students can also attend the teacher office hours on Wednesdays to ask questions.

PARKING AT NEW SCHOOL BUILDING
Students and parents/guardians can park at the upper Ag parking lot. Please use the walking path to get to the front of the new school building. You will enter the front doors. Students need to be screened by a staff member. Parents/guardians can screen themselves. All students and parents/guardians are required to wear a mask.
*The only doors open to the school are the front doors. The commons entrance at the staff parking lot will remain locked. The office is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, except holidays.
SNOW DAY/INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE
If we experience inclement weather on a school day, learning will not stop for Stanwood High School. Every Thursday morning at 7:10 a.m., teachers drop work in their Google Classrooms for the students. The expectation is that students will continue to work on assignments that were already delivered.
**The teachers will hold Google Meets if power and connectivity permits. We will still be able to count the day as a school day as long as students have assignments available.
