Goals
- 100% of IDVA students will build relationships and connect with IDVA staff.
- 100% of IDVA students will have a minimum of one two-way communication documented each month.
Relationships are Key!
Relationships are joyous. Relationships are painful. Relationships build people up. Relationships deflate. Relationships are complicated.
No matter how you look at it, successful relationships take time, energy and intention. The student/ teacher relationship is no different. A recent student satisfaction survey revealed our students have a deep desire to be known by their teachers. They want to feel motivated and pushed by their teachers to reach higher potentials. Documenting Enduring Connection Calls
IMPORTANT REMINDER
- Only use the Enduring Connection Call template when you have completed an individualized two-way communication via email, phone, or class connect.
We are a team!
The ultimate goal is every student will have a minimum of one two-way communication each month. Previously, we have used “MC” when we’ve made contact with a student. Going forward, anytime you talk to a family via email, class connect, or phone please use the Enduring Connection Call template. We are all working on this together and documenting our calls as leaders, homeroom teachers, and content teachers. As we near the end of each month, it will be the homeroom teacher's responsibility to contact students who have not already been contacted. You will receive a spreadsheet weekly to help you track your progress. It is important that you do not use the Enduring Connection Call template when you have left a message or have not had a two way communication. Please do continue using “LM” when you leave a message for a student or family. At the end of each month we will review those who have not been reached and look into why they are not responding to our communication attempts.
- All staff will use the Enduring Connection Call Template (leaders, homeroom teachers, and content teachers) for all meaningful two-way communications.
- If you are leaving messages, please document them using a regular note and “LM” at the beginning of the subject line.
- Homeroom teachers will receive a weekly spreadsheet and will need to attempt to contact students who do not have an Enduring Connection Call documented for that month.
- At the end of the month, leaders will look at who did not have a two way communication during the month and follow up. It will be important that contact attempts are documented in notes prior to leaders following up.
We will be rewarded with amazing relationships with our students and families!
