New Books to Spark Deep Conversations - Check them out!

North Carolina Children's Book Award

Classes are beginning to read the ten nominees for the North Carolina Children's Book Award (NCCBA) this month! The NCCBA is a reader's choice award for children in North Carolina -- they nominate the books, and they get to vote for their favorites! I introduce the award and the nominees to each Lower School class, they will read the nominees, and then we meet back together for a voting party where students cast their votes for their favorite books. It's a great way to read some fantastic picture books, reflect on shared literary experiences, and exercise their right to vote!

Library books

There are currently 598 books checked out of the library! Way to go, readers!

Unfortunately, 266 of those books are overdue. Eek! (But we have had quite a few unexpected days off, so I understand...)

Please check your email for a list of overdue books. Pay special attention to any books that are over a month late. If anything looks amiss on your list of books, please email me at nharvey@cfsnc.org.

Thanks for helping to get our books back for other readers to enjoy!
