4th Quarter TGAs
As a reminder, there are 3 different Teacher Graded Assignments assigned each quarter- a
Math TGA, a Writing TGA, and a Writing Work Sample. Teacher Graded Assignments are worth 30% of your math and ELA grades. (See Grading Category Weights attachment under BOTC above). These TGAs are an opportunity for students to apply the skills they are learning in classes and lessons and for teachers to provide feedback. It is vital that students complete these and turn them in on Seesaw each quarter. See below for information on the 4th quarter TGAs.

ELA
Unit 9-The Tale of Despereaux & Opinion Writing
As students are finishing Unit 9 in their ELA course, they will begin planning and drafting their Opinion Essay, which will be their Quarter 4 TGA that they will turn in at the end of Unit 10. Please make sure to stay on track with completing lessons to ensure that students are going through all parts of the writing process for their Opinion Essay.
Unit 10-Weather, Weather Everywhere & Opinion Writing
In ELA Unit 10, students will be reading several articles about the weather from the magazine K12 World: Weather, Weather Everywhere. This magazine was provided with the ELA materials you received at the beginning of the year. We will be learning about many different features of nonfiction as we learn about different kinds of weather. At the end of Unit 10, students will also be completing their Opinion Essay, which will be turned in as their Quarter 4 Writing TGA.
Note About ELA Lessons:
ELA lessons are meant to take around 90 minutes-2 hours to complete. Please ensure that students are completing all parts of each ELA lesson. If you find that your student is having trouble getting through the lesson all at once, try taking breaks after each section of the ELA lesson.
Math
Unit 10- Fractions
