The Climate Corner
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! Green Meadows has a school climate team. Our team is composed of teachers, administrators, and staff that meet monthly to discuss our school culture and climate. We will be providing monthly climate updates throughout the year.
During the first six weeks of school, classroom teachers are discussing and modeling routines and school-wide behavioral expectations. We teach the expected school behaviors in all learning environments (classrooms, cafeteria, bus, hallways, recess...etc) by modeling for students what respect, responsibility, and safety look like and sound like. We then provide students opportunities to practice these behaviors. Classrooms will complete a behavioral matrix by providing examples of what it looks like to take care of themselves, others, and the school.
Home/School Connection: Please ask your child what they do during the school day to take care of themselves in their classroom. (ask for a specific example)
Possible Answers may include:
-Complete their work
-Use learning or classroom materials
-Follow directions
-Ask for help
