Weekly Update
Dear Families,
There has been some amazing Experiential Education happening in our school this week! From exploring pumpkins, to growing magnificent mushrooms, to planting bulbs, to collecting interesting leaves, pebbles and stones to create works of art, to baking...our students have been engaged in exciting hands-on learning all week long. We had a wonderful spirit day today, and many students wore Black and Orange clothing and accessories. To celebrate the end of two months of working hard every day, we had an outdoor dance party where each cohort showed off their best moves and enjoyed some great tunes courtesy of "Jazzy DJ Jacques!" Thanks to all of the staff who have worked extremely hard this week keeping students focused on learning, getting outdoors and active and exploring nature.
Did you know that next Thursday is Diwali? This 'festival of lights' is a very important celebration for our Hindu families. To learn more about Diwali, please use the following link:

A reminder that Monday, November 1st is a PA Day: there is no school for students. Our staff will be working to develop our School Learning Plan: this is a 'living document' that is refined and revised each year based upon student data collected in the fall. The School Learning Plan is designed to support progress and achievement in Math and Language, and to create goals to support Equity and Inclusion in our school. We are looking forward to a productive day with our innovative and dedicated staff.
Intermediate Volleyball Season has begun! Permission forms will go home and try-outs will begin next week. Ms. Glenn-Hawley will be coaching a Grade 7&8 Girls' Team and Mr. Nicholls will coach our Grade 7&8 Boys. Students in Grades 3-6 will have the opportunity to participate in intramurals, organized by Mr. Morrison and M. Heroux. We are looking forward to a season of skill-building, strong sportsmanship & good competition!
The beginning and end of the school day is a very busy time in our Main Office, and it is very challenging when students arrive late to school, or are picked up just prior to dismissal. Please ensure that your children arrive at school prior to 9:15 so that they can line up with their cohort, and unless you have an appointment, please do not come to pick up your child early. Thank you very much for your support.
Have a wonderful weekend. We wish a safe and happy Halloween to all families who participate in this special day, and a joyful Diwali celebration on Thursday to all who recognize this important festival.
Mme Peart & Ms. Reid
