Learn about all the programs and opportunities, meet the teachers and staff and tour the facilities ! We will have tables set up in the cafeteria to share SMS programs, community resources, wellness fair and support ! #BuildingBearcats

Science Experiments!

Students in Mrs. Brannum's 6th grade science class participated in experiments on physical and chemical changes. Students problem solved and explored physical and chemical changes through hands-on stations. Students enjoyed hands-on science with the gummy bear experiments!

Unleash your Creative Potential by competing in the National PTA Art Reflections Program.


If you have an interest in Visual Arts such as drawing/painting, Music Composition, Literature, Dance Choreography, Film Production, or Photography then this competition is for you!


This year’s theme is “I will change the world by.” Forms are available in the front office for information regarding rules for participation.


Entries are due to Mrs. Ochoa’s office by Friday, October 29th.


Your entry will be judged at the local level and you have a chance to advance to Regionals, State, and National Competition. We are excited to see what our talented SMS Bearcats can create! Pick up your form today!!

VOLUNTEERS! We want YOU!

Sherman ISD requires background checks for volunteers and other purposes. If you plan to volunteer or have been instructed to submit a background check, please review the following:

  • Completion of this form is required once each year.
  • Background checks are cleared at the end of the school year by the last week of June.
  • New background checks can be submitted for a new school year starting in July.
  • Use your legal name as it appears on your driver's license or other official ID.
  • This form requires either a Social Security Number or Visa Number in order to complete the application.
  • Background results may take 3-5 business days to complete.

Sherman Middle School serves 6th, 7th & 8th grade students with a wide variety of activities and opportunities where they can explore their full potential as young Bearcats both on campus and in the community. The campus provides a supportive school atmosphere that focuses on the development of well-rounded students by meeting the social and emotional needs of all students. All students are encouraged to be involved in both academics and extra-curricular activities and the campus encourages parents to become active educational partners to ensure success for all students.
