BE A MENTOR - MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Are you someone who cares about the people in your community and willing to invest one hour a week to assist, encourage and accept? Sauk Prairie friends, we are looking for volunteers to be mentors to our students at the Middle School. Mentors in our program offer emotional and education support to youth attending the Middle School.
Mentors encourage good attendance, promote learning through responsible study habits, help students get organized and set goals, build career awareness and appreciation for higher education. The mentor program is designed to be an in-school service.
If you can volunteer your time once a week during a study hall, we’d love to hear from you! Contact sherri.ramaker@saukprairieschools.org for an application or to learn more about this opportunity!

Middle Level Leader
Marlee Mohrbacher is the Optimist Middle Level Leader for December. She is an 8th grader and is the daughter of Samantha & Timothy Mohrbacher. Marlee was nominated by her Art teacher, Kurt Rossbach.
Here is what Mr. Rossbach had to say about her. “Marlee is an incredibly talented and dedicated student. When she isn’t working diligently on both classroom assignments and her own work, she reaches out to friends to be the support they need. Recently, Marlee participated in Project Girl, a program offered through the River Arts Center, that “combines art, media literacy, and youth led activism.” I was fortunate to be at the reception for this wonderful project and was able to witness the prowess by which Marlee took to public speaking and the sharing of her work. It is apparent that Marlee cares a great deal for the world she live in and strives to do things in her life that make a lasting and beneficial contribution to our society. It is my great pleasure in awarding the middle level leader to Marlee and expect wonderfully creative things in her future!”
Marlee is involved in Project Girl, GSA and Volleyball at the Middle School. Her interests outside of school include art and music. After High School Marlee would like to attend UW Stout and study Art & Design.

News from the G/T Department
Since early November, the 35 members of the Sauk Prairie Middle School Forensics team have been working on presentations ranging from play acting, readers theater, and non-original oratory, to demonstration, persuasive, and informative speeches. Some students have written their own pieces, while others interpreted prose or poetry written by others. On January 18th, the Forensics Team will host Friends and Family Night, and all of the students will present, in order to prepare for the two festivals which they will attend in February at Beaver Dam Middle School. Family members and friends are invited to attend both of the festivals, as well as Friends and Family Night.
