Central News & Celebrations

Week of October 12, 2015

Message from Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Spencer

This week is SPIRIT WEEK in our community, and Central kids wil be sharing their school spirit by dressing a particular way each day! More information included below, and you can also refer to the news form that was sent home last week with your child.

Our bookstore opens this week! we will be open each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:35. A cart will be in the front of the building so kids can stop by and shop. We will close before the first bell rings so all kids get to class on time!

Starting this Wednesday, will begin rewarding kids who bring in Box Top sheets filled with Box Tops! Kids will receive a coupon to the bookstore to go toward an item. We have plenty of sheets printed at school, so let your teacher know if you need one for home! If you have already sent filled sheets to school, we will make sure your child gets a coupon to the bookstore.

We hope you have a wonderful week!

Shoparoo: A Way to Raise Funds for OUR Kids!

Shoparoo is a great way to support our kids without having to sell a thing! Please see the information below to learn more about Shoparoo. We will also be sending information home with your child very soon. We have already earned more than 25,000 Roo points and we are just getting started! Currently we have 40 supporters. Imagine what will happen when hundreds join!

What Will Shoparoo Funds Help Purchase?

We need more Chromebooks for our students. The goal is to have a 1:1 setting in third and fourth grades! This means there is a Chromebook (laptop device) for each student´s use throughout a school day. We have several devices currently and want to add more. We would also like to add to our second grade classrooms in the future.

More Information Here:

This year we are excited to be partnering with a fun, free, and truly easy fundraiser called Shoparoo! Schools nationwide are already earning hundreds and even thousands every year through Shoparoo and it’s a great opportunity for us to really make a difference this year!

Shoparoo is school fundraising made easy: the free app turns pictures of your everyday shopping receipts into cash donations and sweepstakes entries for our school! Yep, it’s that simple. No more cutting labels, selling door to door, or time-consuming coordinating. All you have to do is shop as you normally do, snap pictures of your receipts with the app, and voila Just shop, snap, earn!

Get started today:

1. Download the free Shoparoo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

2. Select our school from the list and start taking pictures of your receipts - shop anywhere, buy anything!

3. The first 20 supporters at our school will earn an extra $1 donation from Shoparoo for their first receipt!

4. Earn even more Roo Points, or cash donations, by inviting others to join using your personal referral code

5. You can even select a grade to support and have fun with grade competitions!

There’s no limit to how much money we can raise with Shoparoo - the more supporters, the more we will raise for our school. Schools with just 40 supporters are earning an average of $1,000 every year. That’s free, easy money that we could be fundraising too. Check out shoparoo.com to learn more about this awesome app!

Thank you for your support!

Ms. Palmer Entertains at Cabotfest!

Our very own fourth grade teacher, Shekanah Palmer, sang from her heart Saturday afternoon on the Cabot Public Schools stage at Cabotfest. She has a beautiful voice, and we will make sure she shares it with our school before the year is complete!

Box Tops for Education

Our school collects Box Tops for Education, so please be saving these at home! We are hoping to purchase a brand new flag pole for our campus. The funds we raise with Box Tops will help us achieve our goal.

Below are links to some collection pages for Box Tops. You are free to print these, or you may ask your child to pick up a sheet at school! We will have them available for you.
