St. Charles Challenge 2019

St. Charles Challenge

Dear Anderson Friends and Families,

Have you ever considered what it might take to help save someone’s life?

What if all it took was to shave your head?

or... add a green hair extension?

or... donate a few dollars?

Every year, thousands of brave men, women, and children have joined the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and shed their locks in support of childhood cancer research. I invite you to make a “bald” statement and join us on March 20th 2020 at St. Charles East High School! Support by shaving your head includes registering online, raising money, and showing up at the main event! Please support us in our pursuit to raise funds to help eradicate the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada.

This year, again we will be selling Green Hair extension. The green hair extension is another way to show support. The hair extensions are placed in by Beautiful You Salon. The cost is going to be $20 per extension. The permission will be coming home soon. If you are not able to get it during school, please come to the event or go to the salon during the month of March and let them know you are from Anderson School.

We will be selling “Lucky Charms” which are going to be a dollar donation towards St. Baldrick’s. A “Lucky Charm” is where you can write your name on the charm and it will be posted as a supporter of St. Baldrick’s Foundation. These will be available in the classroom shortly.

Our goal this year is to have as many people and schools participate at the event! Last year Anderson Gives Back raised $6,100. This year we set our goal at $4,500. As a whole event we raised over $55,000. For St. Baldrick’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

If we raise our goal of $4,500. stay tuned for a special surprise! We will be putting pictures up in the lunchroom as supporters.

We have some great raffles planned, and we will be selling food, ice cream, and drinks with the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

St. Baldrick’s events have raised approximately $150 million, providing research grants to doctors and scientists at more than 200 institutions.

Going bald is not for everyone. But you can still help! Visit www.St.Baldricks.org click Get Involved, event name is St. Charles Challenge (or give me a call at 630-921-1978, or st.charleschallenge@gmail.com ) to see other ways to be involved! You can sign up to be a volunteer at our event, set up a fundraising page, make a donation on behalf of a participant (or to the event as a whole) or simply help us by spreading the word.

Together, let’s Conquer Kids’ Cancer!

Sincerely,

Brooks Nicewarner
