The Great Egg Drop
By: Joey Warner
The task/problems
Mr. Landers gave us a assignment and it was to my a contraption so an egg can drop from a 40-45 ft firetruck latter. So then we made a little box and then we had the Dixie cups to put the egg in then we had rubber bands sticking out of the Dixie cups so then when it landed it would bounce. And they were attached to Popsicle sticks that were attached to the box. Our problems were there was to much weight on the egg contraption so then the egg was dropping to fast and the plastic egg was braking. So then we took some weight off. Another problem was we had cotton balls and packing peanuts in the box so it would make it a softer landing but they were falling out of the box so we but a plastic bag over them.
How we came up with the idea
We thought of a parachute. because the egg was dropping to fast so then we had the idea of a parachute so the egg wouldn't drop as fast.

Our Model
On our model there was we made a box out of the cardboard and we put packing peanuts and cotton ball in the box. Then we put a plastic bag over the packing peanuts and the cotton balls so they would'nt fall out of the box. Then we taped two Popsicle sticks on only two sides of the cardboard box then we taped another Popsicle stick on top of the other ones. Then hanging from the top Popsicle stick were two rubber bands and we put two holes in a Dixie cup then we put the rubber bands in the holes. And the rubber bands made the egg bounce when it landed. Also we had two pieses of string on the top Popsicle stick and we put two plastic straws on each of the strings to keep the parachute stay up. And of course we have the parachute on the top so the egg would fall slow instead of fast. And that how we made our egg drop model.
