What's Up in the Edtech World
Happy Leap Day!
We have received our shipment of Chromebooks and are working to get them checked in and ready to try out. I have been exploring all the great apps that are available to teachers and students through the Chrome browser. PLEASE take note, any of these apps or extensions can also be used on your laptop with the Chrome browser.
MoveNote - This is an amazing app that can either be added to your Chrome browser OR added to your google drive. Students will LOVE this. You can create a presentation in Google Slides and then record yourself presenting! You can choose to have the camera on, showing your face or you can turn it off and just record your voice. Kids LOVE to film themselves. What a fun way to have students prepare presentations!!
Wizer - is a neat tool for creating a variety of interactive assignments including writing assignments, multiple choice quizzes, and labeling assignments. I am including a video explaining how this website works. I am happy to help any of you get this working. I will meet you and walk you through the steps to set this up. This would be a great way to have students label an image!
Enjoy Wanda Mullin's Padlet from I LOVE reading week! It is included below!
Did you know that MIT has a channel devoted to just K12 videos? Did you know MIT has a website with thousands of videos on a variety of topics? I didn't know either one of these things! I have included a link below to the K12 channel. The videos I looked at were about 5 minutes in length. I believe there are also videos on the main site that include lectures by MIT professors.
