WITH LATE PICKUPS!
SCHOOL ENDS AT 3:25PM!
We want to say thank you for working with us this year as schools and families try to find their new normal, during this prolonged pandemic! We want to send a BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE PARENTS OF BUS RIDERS who continue to show patience and grace to our Transportation Department! For all our parents who wait patiently in our LONG CAR RIDER LINE, DAILY - THANK YOU SO MUCH! We definitely appreciate your support and patience!
PARENTS & LATE PICK UPS:
Please make arrangements for your child(ren) to be picked up at 3:25pm each day! If they are attending after school tutorials or clubs, please make sure you are here by the tutorial/club designated dismissal times. Often, parents are not answering the phone after school and coming in being disrespectful and uncooperative, which causes undue stress on students and staff.
ENFORCEMENT/PRIVILEGES/ENROLLMENT:
We will enforce all pick up times! Any student being picked up, after 3:25pm or late from clubs/tutorials, will be logged in our Raptor system. Parents will be subject to reports filed with our local agencies to provide support to those families who continue to disregard school policies and fail to provide the necessary care for their child(ren). PICK UP TIME IS AT 3:25PM. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are running late, you must call our office by 3:25pm. We do understand that circumstances arise and we are here to help, but late pickups should not be an every day occurrence.
Students who are picked up late from clubs or tutorials will unfortunately be dropped from all after school events. Also, any students enrolled under a TRANSFER or AFFIDAVIT are subject to a review and their transfer agreement being revoked. Those on affidavits will be required to provide additional documentation for proof of residency and may be denied enrollment, as well.
SUPPORT:
We have teamed up with Koala Kare, LLC to provide before and after school care for our parents. Visit their website below for more information. We are here to help, but we also have our own families to take care of, as well. So, parents we need your help!
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter!

GRADE PLACEMENT COMMITTEE WILL BE HOLDING ATTENDANCE MEETINGS IN JANUARY FOR ALL STUDENTS WHO ARE BELOW THE 90% ATTENDANCE RATE. Please be mindful that parent/doctor notes, help us code what type of absence it is, but it does not dismiss the absence. All students, regardless of their grade, will be subject to retention if they do not meet the 90% state requirement.
MASKS ARE MANDATORY!
Booker Parents,
Cycle 1 Assessments are around the corner! The assessment dates for 3rd-5th are:
Dec. 13 - Math
Dec. 14 - Reading
Dec. 15 - Science
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our scores for our first checkpoint tests were not good and we will be having class and individual meetings to discuss our academic goals! I know our Bengals will do better next week! Our teachers have also been reflecting on instruction and assessments and their current instructional practices to ensure mastery and intervening with a purpose!
Please talk to your child about the importance of district and state testing. Often, scores drive interventions! Yet, our new tech babies are not taking online tests seriously! We see them clicking through the assessments, guessing and just trying to finish early. Some even exit to sneak to other websites!
Students must understand that all of our assessments, including all STAAR tests will be online. We will continue to practice using this format. Therefore, it is imperative that you talk to your students about online testing, the need to take it seriously, and the need to show what they know and not how fast they can finish! Ask them how they did after each assessment day and then follow up with asking them what did they score on those assessments! Our goal is to have everyone at 70 or higher!
If you have any questions or need further clarification, do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher for their most recent assessment grade! Also, visit HAC for all weekly grades! You may also contact me at tdupont@springisd.org tp get any test scores or a print out of your child's test history to ensure you are reviewing this information with them on a regular basis.
Regards,
Booker Admin
