NEW CAPS Opportunity
Seniors:
We have just become aware of an opening in the CAPS Healthcare program. Here is a message from the director of CAPS:
Seniors,
There is one spot open in the St. Charles County CAPS program - Healthcare strand for a student in the Wentzville School District. If you did not apply during the school year, but would like to now apply for the open spot, see your counselor or email Nicole Whitesell, CAPS Director, to get the paper application. CAPS is a year-long program and has an AM session (7:30 AM - 10 AM) and a PM session (11:30 AM - 2 PM). Students earn 3 high school credits for the school year, but it takes up 4 classes in your schedule.
Here's some information about the Healthcare strand of the CAPS program:
This course strand is ideal for students who intend to go into a medical field. Students will engage in the team approach of healthcare at hospitals and/or healthcare facilities, giving students actual experience with health practitioners. Students will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers in the medical field, from medical practitioner to hospital administrator. Students will participate in medical training and clinical presentations prior to participating in clinical observational rotation assignments. Students will develop professional skills that are necessary to thrive in collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environments. Students will learn about Safety, HIPPA, CPR, and Basic First Aid competencies. In addition, students will have a capstone project. The CAPS classroom is off-site at various locations in St. Charles County and the program partners with SSM Health and BJC Healthcare. Students must provide their own transportation.
Go to scccaps.org for additional information.

Grad Night Information
Dear Parents of 2020 Graduates:
Senior year is here!!!! Graduation for our senior students will be here before you know it! Research shows that the months at the end of the school year have some of the highest teenage traffic fatalities of the entire year. The night of graduation is especially dangerous for teens, as there is often alcohol involved.
The purpose of a Grad Night all night party is to provide a safe, sober, and supervised event full of fun activities for the kids to celebrate with their friends. Communities providing a lock-in party have significantly reduced alcohol and drug related injuries and death on graduation night. Parents will have peace of mind knowing that their graduate is in a safe place and having the time of their lives without risking their lives.
The parents of the Class of 2020 are carrying on a Liberty Eagles tradition by providing our students with a Grad Night party they will never forget! It will be an evening filled with friends, food, games, and prizes.
There was a meeting on March 14 to discuss the beginning stages of planning our Grad Night 2020. Many parents attended and we voted on the venue and started signing up for various committees.

Registration is currently being accepted. We have already begun fundraising. We are already making deposits for the event site and entertainment, so registration fees are crucial to securing these items. Please send in your registration fee as soon as possible to facilitate the planning process.
To register, complete a registration form and send in a check for $80 made out to LHS Grad Night and put “Class of 2020” and your student’s name in the memo line. Students can drop off payments at Liberty’s front office. Please place signed registration form and payments in an envelope labeled LHS Class of 2020 Grad Night. We will have a booth at many events at school where your student can bring in a check, register, and order senior yard signs as well.
Coordinating Grad Night requires many volunteers to make it all come together for a great night for our kids! Please let us know how you wish to help!
Thank you!
