Are There Any More Good Jobs That Pay Without a Bachelor’s Degree?
But those of us who are established in our careers know that earnings alone do not make a good career decision. In fact, a misinformed college choice may be more of a set-back, rather than a step forward. Earnings matter, of course. But it is essential that we find the best
personal fit to the work itself and can successfully enter and complete the requisite education and training program.
Please invite me to your classroom!
Precision Exams
Want to get the most out of the Precision Exams program for the balance of the year? Administer a midterm exam and access your reports! Our data can help you:
- Use midterms to plan for the rest of the year and adjust your pacing based on the student outcome data.
- Understand areas of student strength and weakness by standard and differentiate instruction accordingly.
- Drive program efficacy and growth by making data-based decisions.
For help accessing your data, see our how-to: Using Your Precision Exams Data. For a better understanding of how to use your data see: Data-Driven Decision Making – Why It Works In Education.

High School Options Fair
Location: Prairie Trail MS
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Please help spread the word to middle school students (target audience-7th grade) about the upcoming High School Options Fair. Last year was the first year for this event (called 7th grade Pathways Fair) and has been rebranded to correlate with the presentations Angela Epps, Amy Stolz and Barbra Gonzales do each fall for middle school students and parents.
Please print and post the attached flier in your classrooms and hand out "Save the Date" cards to students (available in Spanish as well). High school teachers are planning some really awesome and engaging activities to help share about all the options available when they go to high school.
Summer Educator Externships
Are you interested in working outside of education this summer expanding your knowledge and skills about businesses and organizations? Why not consider applying for a summer externship. Externships are for 1 week during June or July (may apply for up to 2 externships per summer). A stipend of $600 is provided to educators involved in an educator externship. Eligible applicants are current high school CTE and/or 21st Century Academy instructors and CTE-Career Counselors. Deadline to apply is April 15, 2019.
Past participants rave about the experience and the impact it has on their teaching/classroom! From this experience educators will have:
- An informed perspective of the workplace/community
- An accurate reflection of school as preparation for the workplace and civic life
- An understanding through reflection of what works and what does not work
- A clearer understanding of the connection of the workplace to curriculum and what is taught in the classroom.
More information can be found on the CTE O-Zone at http://departments.olatheschools.com/externships/
