Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter

September 24, 2021

Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!

Dear Pleasant Valley Families,

Thank you to all of the Father's and Mentor's that participated and sent in pictures for our Virtual Father's Walk on September 23rd! Here is a link to view them! PV 2021 Father's & Mentor's Walk Pictures.

Yesterday we had a chilly recess! Please be aware of the weather and make sure your child is sent with a light coat or jacket for recess if needed!

As a result of the ongoing pandemic challenges, we are experiencing supply chain disruption on many products that are on our menus. Please expect numerous last-second menu changes for the foreseeable future. Due to the many product shortages, our online menus will not always be updated to reflect the day's menu. Our nutrition services staff will continue to serve fresh and local foods throughout the school year.

On another cafeteria note, we will not be offering snacks or treats to be purchased after lunches are served until further notice. There is no need to send in extra money for snacks going forward.

Parents of car riders, please follow the dismissal procedures for car riders. Parents and guardians must have their child’s first and last name written clearly on the sheet provided to you so that someone outside can read it and display it on the dashboard for our staff to read it quickly. If their name has been written in pencil or pen, please go over it with a dark marker and add your child's grade level. Also, parents MUST remain in their cars and use the traffic patterns outlined during car rider pick up. We appreciate everyone who continues to follow these procedures as you are safe and a role model for our kids!

We will hold our first Parent-Teacher Conference Night on October 21st. Conferences will be scheduled by your child's teacher and held virtually.

Click here to read PCSD's COVID Protocols for 2021-22. Parents need to check their children for symptoms before they leave for school each day and keep them home if they are sick or exhibit any of the symptoms listed in the SYMPTOM CHECK area of the document. Masks are mandatory on buses and now mandatory inside the school. We will distance to the extent possible in the school.

Thank you for helping to make Pleasant Valley the wonderful school that it is! As always, I want to thank you for your partnership with Pleasant Valley! We are very appreciative of all of you! Should you ever have any questions, concerns, or just a great idea you would like to share, please email me at or call the main office at 440.885.2380 weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Very Sincerely,

Mrs. Stephanie Boka
