Who to Follow on Twitter?
If you're on Twitter (or thinking of jumping in) and looking for other educators to follow, Rachel Labuz at Washington discovered this great resource of suggested teacher tweeters. If you are new to Twitter and want to know more about getting started, look at this presentation. I'd also be happy to meet in person to help you get started.
Palatine Mini Maker Faire is May 21!
If you have students (or children of your own) interested in showing off their Maker skills, enroll now in the Palatine Mini Maker Faire. You can also register to attend and see all the cool stuff students in the Northwest suburbs are creating. Click here to register or to learn more.
NEW APP OF THE WEEK: SEESAW
Allison Sobotka from Franklin created a presentation about the app Seesaw Learning Journal. From her guide:
Seesaw is a class learning journal that allows teachers and students to create and/or upload work to post in a private class Seesaw feed. Teachers approve all posts. Parents can be invited to see their child’s class posts.
The Seesaw app is installed on all K-2 classroom iPads, and all cart iPads, and can be used by any grade level.Google Greatness: 9 Google tricks I had never seen
I'm always learning cool, new things about Google and the Google Apps for Education suite. Matt Miller's blog (Ditch that Textbook) is a great resource for new and innovative uses of technology in education.
