NOTE FROM THE DRE

Greetings Families!

A new liturgical year has begun! We are in the wonderful season of Advent which leads into most children's favorite season - Christmas!

For the season of Advent, we invite families to share with their child(ren) in an advent reflection. All students received an Advent reflection or activity booklet at their last class.

We have a lot of activities planned for this month. Our elementary students will be celebrating the feast day of Saint Nicholas with some fun activities and collecting Nickels for St. Nick to donate to the Salvation Army! Our Confirmation youth are sponsoring a food drive as the community pantries are seeing an increase in need. On December 22nd, our 7-11th graders will be hosting a "Wrap it up night" - free gift wrapping for the parish community.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee's prayer request for December 4th is Father Nathaniel Miniatt! Join us in praying for him and other priests by visiting this site!

The Knights of Columbus is hosting a coloring contest, The Real Meaning of Christmas. All children grades 1-6 received materials and are welcome to join in on the competition. Prizes will be awarded! These must be turned in no later than December 6th.

We invite families to join us for Mass on December 8th for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times and locations can be found on the parish website or in the bulletin.

Lastly, in November our 7-11th graders worked hard on various Saint project activities. These projects are on display in the hall entrance stairwell. Parents are welcome to take a walk and see their projects.

Wishing all families an Advent blessed with Hope, Peace, Joy and Love!

ST. MARY & SONS OF ZEBEDEE FAITH FORMATION OFFICE

The mission of St. Mary and Sons of Zebedee Faith Formation Program is to aid parents in the Catholic faith formation of their children. At Baptism, parents promised to carry out the faith formation of their children and are considered their children’s primary teachers. Our parish catechists assist parents and children by providing quality religious education in a safe and spiritual setting. The collaboration between parents, catechists and students is essential to the growth of the Catholic Faith. The partnership promotes children to grow in their love for God and their understanding of their Catholic faith. It also cultivates their God-given gifts and talents and encourages them to follow in the path of Jesus. Furthermore, it encourages them to serve God and others compassionately and generously as Catholic Christians, which leads them to evolve into active members of their faith community.
