Steel Valley,a Ancient Civilization

Name of region
The name of this Ancient Region is Steel Valleys.This is called so because steel was the main product being made in this civilization.Miners in Steel Valley would dig until they found Iron ore to make steel.There was a lot of iron in the ground that they found.This is way Steel Valleys's main product is steel.The civilization traded and sold steel to people.It was there there main source of income and there main job to do in the Civilization.
Relative Location on the Current Map
The Relative Location on the Current Map is Buffalo,New York until Erie,New York(southwest of Buffalo.)The civilizations borders were Buffalo,New York to Geneva,New York, to Elmira ,New York,to Erie,New York.This is because the Steel Valley's main source of freshwater was Lake Erie .There civilization location went from Buffalo along the Lake Surface,until Erie,New York.They were afraid to travel father because of the great lakes and how it would be hard to cross them. would get freshwater to drink from Lake Erie,and freshwater for there livestock and crops.At first,the Steel Valley civilization was a nomadic group.They started out in Long Island,and after that they found out the freshwater was bad to drink,they migrate west until they found a good source of water to drink.They landed upon Lake Erie,and stayed there ever since.
Time Period of Study
The Time Period of Study for the Steel Valley Civilization was 1100 CE-2207 CE.Steel Valley was a small civilization,with about 12,000 people living in it by 2207 CE.They settled upon Lake Erie in 1100 CE.The Civilization died out in 2207 CE when invaders came and polluted the Lake.The invaders also killed 3/4 of the Steel Valley Civilization.The last of them migrated North until they found another source of freshwater.
Jobs/Responsibilities
Since the main source of money and trade In Steel Valley was steel,the main job of Steel Valley was steel-making.man and women could have steel-making as a job.Besides steel-making,Men could also be hunters,fishermen,teachers,politics,traders,farmers,iron miners,brick-makers,and representative.Woman could also be hunters,fishermen,teachers,farmers,brick-makers,and head of the household.They would also take care of there children.Boys and Girls would go to school at age 7 until age 14.When they were 14,boys would start doing the jobs men do and girls would start doing the jobs women do.At school,boys and girls learned how to read,write calligraphy(there main way of writing),learn art,and music.They also played ports that they made up at school.
Famous Landmarks
Steel Valley has a few famous landmarks.It's most famous is the Steel Tower.The Steel Tower was a watch tower in the middle of the capital of Steel Valley,Kwankas. The tower was built as a watch tower and it also symbolized what this civilization was all about.It was built by the civilizations first representative,Squanto and steelworkers.The Steel Tower still stands today,barely damaged ,but not fully in its original state.Another famous landmark is the iron tunnel.The iron tunnel is a giant tunnel that was made by a famous Steel Valley iron miner(his name is Edwin Sosha)that went from Erie to Buffalo.It took 30 years for Edwin and 120 other iron miners to build it.They used shovels,and they made 10 of one of the earliest form of the drill,which was man-power.10 men would use it.5 men would spin the drill,while 5 other push into the stone.It was a slow,but effective way to break trough stone.They made the tunnel to transport from Erie to Buffalo because they needed to find the quick way to transport from border to border of Steam Valley without any obstacles.The tunnel is still here in present-day,but it is closed off because the walls and ceiling are highly unstable.One other landmark is called the Steel Hall.The Steel Hall was the capital building of Steel Valley from the time the civilization started until it ended.The entire building was made out of steel and bricks.It had every single written article about the civilization in it.But when invaders invaded Steel Valley,they destroyed most of the written papers about Steel Valley,but there was a few left.The last of the citizens of the Steel Valley took the 100s of papers and hid them in what is now present-day Cleveland. Archaeologist started finding the papers in about 1857 CE.This is how modern-day humans found out about Steam Valley.The first people of Steam Valley built the Steel Hall just for Kwankas. The ruins of the hall still stands today.
Terrian/Environment
The terrain in Steam Valley was very mixed.There was lots of woods and valleys in the area,but there were some beaches along Lake Erie.There is also lots of open fields.The environment was like present day New York's environment.There were 4 seasons,just like in present-day.The seasons were fall,winter,spring,and summer.In the fall,it was chilly,from a range of degrees were about about 60-40 degrees Fahrenheit.In the winter,the range of degrees were about 40-5 degrees Fahrenheit. In the Spring,the range was 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit and in the Summer the range was about 60-100 degrees Fahrenheit.Since Steam Valley was right by Lake Erie,the temperature was affected by the lake. For example,in the summer,if it was 95 degrees outside in present-day Albany,it would probably be 90 degrees in Steam Valley.
Government
In Steel Valley,they had 5 city-states,Kwankas,York,North-wood,South-wood,and Buffalo.The first people of Steel Valley named the city-states.The Steel Valley civilization had a indirect democracy from the start to the end of there civilization.An indirect democracy is when citizens vote for a person to be a representative and make choices for the civilization.This is because when the civilization first started,citizens of the Steel valley civilization needed a leader.They decided to vote for someone to be their leader.They chose a man named Squanto.After 4 years,Squanto died.They decided that 4 years after a representative was chosen to be leader,they would vote for someone new to be representative.They sticked with the idea and used this form of government every since.
Famous People
There are 5 world famous people from Steel Valley.They are Squanto,Edwin Sosha,Bray Jennings,Lexis Otto,and Aria Exum. Squanto was the first representative or leader of Steel Valley.At first,the civilization had barely anything,but Squanto made them into a thriving civilization with his hunting and leadership skills.Edwin Sosha was a famous iron miner known for making the iron tunnel.Bray Jennings is known for writing on documented book on his life in Steel Valley.Through 1000s of years after he wrote book,there have been copy made from the original version of it,and a through several stages from its original state,there are still versions of it today.This book helped people from all over the world learn what it was like living in Steel Valley.Lexis Otto is the women who was able to save some of the papers from the invaders of Steel valley and hid them.She hid them so the legacy of Steel Valley would live on.Aria Exum was the first lady representative of Steel Valley.She was mentioned a lot in Bray Jennings book.Through the 1,000s of years,she is still a role model for women today.
Religon
There were 2 main religions in Steel Valley.The religions they believed in were Greek mythology and Confucianism.Greek mythology is the body of myths and teachings that the Ancient Greeks believed in.The myths included their gods and explained natural phenomena like how the world was created.This was the Greeks main religion. Confucianism is a Ancient Chinese philosophy made by a scholar from China named Confucius.In Confucianism people must respect each other and follow a code of conduct.They were supposed to also show equal respect between family members and government officials. Above all,everyone was supposed to respect there elders.This was called Filial Piety.These religions spread to Steel Valley when Greek migrated by boats from Greece to Steel Valley.They left because they were former politicians who were kicked out of Greece,because they were unpopular politician.There were about 50 of them.Citizens of Steel Valley learned about Greek language and how to speak it,Greek traditions,and Greek religion. Lots of citizens of Steel Valley like the religion the Greeks had,other didn't. People started making shrines of the Greek gods.They would pray to them.Greek mythology became a popular religion in Steel Valley.Before that,Steel Valley didn't have religion in there civilization.Confucianism spread to Steel Valley when 500 men went on a ship to import steel loads to China for weapons to use to for protection and hunting.When they got there,there were only 350 men left,they learned of the Chinese culture,Chinese tradition,and Chinese philosophy and religion.The men really like the idea of Confucianism.They thought it would be a good law system to have in Steel Valley.They gave the Chinese the steel for the weapons and set off back home.The overall journey was 10 years.When they got back,there was only 200 men left. The told the town representative the idea of Confucianism and he liked it.It became a law in every city-sate to follow the philosophy of Confucianism.It was a opinion to believe in Greek mythology,but not a option to follow the laws of Confucianism.
Traditional Clothing
In Steel Valley,people wore tunics in the summer.The tunics were made out of silk.They would get the silk by trading with other tribes in the area.Boys and girls wore tunics.In the winter,people wore jackets made out of animal fur.They also wore pants made out of animal fur.They would get the fur by hunting.
