September 23, 2019~~~ A Newsletter for Teachers and Staff
Week 7:
"The BEST thing about being a teacher is that it MATTERS. The HARDEST thing about being a teacher is that it MATTERS EVERYDAY." Todd Whitaker
Hello Fellow Panthers,
Your Principal has laryngitis...you're welcome! lol
This week's snippet:
"The BEST thing about being a teacher is that it MATTERS!" Think about that for a moment. You chose to be in a profession that matters to children, to their parents and you help shape who they will be when they grow up and have a family of their own. That is huge! They may have no hope...save for you! You truly are a hero! Let's not forget the second part, "The HARDEST thing about being a teacher is that it MATTERS EVERYDAY!" Many of you can't stand to be out for even a half-day and I believe it is because you know it MATTERS EVERY SINGLE DAY! You know your kids need you EVERY SINGLE DAY! Now we know there are times when you can't help it and you truly need to be away, but Central has great attendance compared to other schools. You know how important it is, not for statistics on a page, but for your students! Thank you for pouring your whole heart into your students. Just thinking about it has me #ridinghighonpantherpride.
This week I will be finalizing summatives and DPPs. You will sign up for your formal observations, and PLCs will be on Tuesday, September 24th during planning times. Christine Busenbark will be with us from iReady.
Also, we will be hosting "Dad's Take Your Child to School Day" on Wednesday, September 25th. Dad's will be taking them to breakfast and walking them to class. They may stay and assist their child for a few minutes in class. This would be a great read-aloud time, and/or DEAR time. We will make an announcement around 8:30 to thank them for coming.
Have an incredible week Panthers!

Action Items and Reminders
ACTION REQUIRED -Lesson plans should be saved in our team drive under Lesson Plans, Your Name, and in the 1st 9 Weeks Folder. CHANGE your name if you are using a Team Members Plans. If we are audited (and we will be), your plans should reflect your name. Please do not email plans to me. Upload them in the Team Drive. Many still have not uploaded their plans on the shared drive. There should be 7 weeks of plans there. Please see your team leader if you need assistance. Also, let them know they have this week to update the file, after that time I will meet with them individually. Thank you!
- Collaborative Planning notes should also be in the shared drive. Team Leaders, all you need is just a list of who is there, the date, the time and a brief description of what you planned together. These should be in your grade level folder on the shared team drive. Many of you have them and just need to upload them. See me if you have questions and a BIG Thanks to the grade levels who have this all taken care of already.
- Any questions or concerns? That's okay, but be sure to use proper protocol and procedures. First ask your team leader or colleague, if they cannot help, contact a member on the leadership team (Mrs. Whiteside, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Norman, or Mrs. Kubit) before going to the District Level.
Don't forget to complete your DPP and hit SUBMIT. Also, please stop by to sign your summative evaluation if you haven't already.
- This week you will select a time for your formal evaluation via a Doodle or Google Poll.
- Again, thank you for being on time and greeting students at the door!
- You must notify Admin if you will be out and time must go into Skyward ASAP.
- Attendance notes must be checked for daily and turned in daily.
- Student of the week luncheon is scheduled...send invitations home with your student recipients for Aug/Sept.
- We are checking to see when the new ID Badges will be here. Wear your I.D. Badges at all times!
- Lesson Plans should be in my Sunday night to the Team Drive. See comments above.
- Each week provide the Panther Pride School Newsletter link to our parents in your school newsletters, FB Pages, Remind,etc...
