Principal's Letter
Dear LWE Families,
It's that time of year when we are busy with so many great things at LWE! Our 3rd and 5th graders wrapped up Georgia Milestones testing and now it's our 4th graders' turn to show what they know! Our 3rd and 5th grade students were focused and ready for GMAS, and I know our 4th graders are as well!
Our Boosterthon experience has been a lot of fun! Our students have really enjoyed their daily visits with the Boosterthon team as well as the challenges and incentives they have earned. Thank you so much to all of you who have helped secure donations and pledges. I am looking forward to our Fun Run on Wednesday! As a result of your efforts, we will start next school year with an extra "pot" of money which will go toward student and teacher resources. We are getting closer to our $20,000 goal! Thanks for all you do to support LWE!
I'd like to say a huge "thank you" to our PTO for coordinating special treats for us this week in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! We love the breakfasts and lunches provided for our staff by our wonderful business partners: Another Broken Egg, Chilis, Chick-fil-a, El Porton and Vito's!! Thank you!!
Our 2nd Annual Student Led Picnic Conferences were fabulous! We had such a great turn-out of parents! Thanks to all of you who came to let your child show off the progress they made during this school year. We value students having a growth mind set and celebrating their growth and progress!
I cannot believe we only have 13 days left in the 2018-19 school year!! I am savoring every moment our school family has left together this school year, as I love working with this incredible group of children and educators each and every day.
Warm regards,
Julie Morris
Please complete SP2020 survey!
We value the feedback from parents and staff! You should have received an email entitled SP2020 Survey. We will be using the results of this survey to measure our growth toward several areas of our District and School Strategic Plan. Please take 3 minutes to answer the questions on the link provided. If you didn't receive it, I am including it here for your convenience. Thank you!
GA Milestones Testing Information
The Georgia Milestones testing started today, Monday, May 6th for our fourth graders. Please see the full schedule below. For students that will be participating in testing, a good night of sleep, a healthy breakfast and being on time to school are important. Students that arrive after testing has started will have to be scheduled for a make up session.
Also, please note that we will not have lunch visitors or classroom volunteers in the building on our testing days ( May 6, 7, 9, and 10). Please email your child’s teacher if a specific meeting time needs to be arranged.
Additional information about the Georgia Milestones assessment can be found at the following link:
