Florence Update

May 29, 2016

Dear Florence Families,

Wow! What a week!!! We packed an amazing amount of activities into this past week. We began with a great presentation of Six Flags Over Texas by our fourth grade students. Third grade finished out their Hansel and Gretel shows and we held our Student Council officer elections for the next school year. Fourth grade rocked it at Play Day on Tuesday, we held a BOGO book fair, year books were handed out, and we ended the week with our annual Mayfest. Whew!


It was a busy but a really fun week and we appreciate the help and support of PTA and all our amazing volunteers. Thank you to:


  • Marcy Lasiter - Fourth Grade Play Day
  • Pam Lane - Year books
  • Mayfest - Robyn Birkenfield
  • And out of nowhere we had three dads jump in to help with setting up risers for the inside Maypole dance. We want to thank Mr. Parkerson, Mr. Eggers, and Mr. Novoa


Thursday, June 2nd, will be our last day of school. It is a half day for students and hard copy of the report cards with a few flyers for next year will be handed out. You may also go to Home Access Center to check grades and progress.

End of Year Recognition Ceremonies:


  • May 31st: First Grade 10:00 a.m.
  • May 31st: Second Grade 1:30 p.m.
  • June 1st: Third Grade 9:30 a.m.
  • June 1st: Kindergarten 1:00 p.m.
  • June 2nd: Fourth Grade Graduation 8:30 a.m.


June 2nd: Last Day of School - Early Release 12:00

  • June 26th: Deadline for ordering School Supply Packs
  • August 2nd - 10th: On-line Enrollment for the Keller Feeder Pattern - thank you for getting your on-line enrollment completed, so that we can get your child on a class list.
  • August 18th: Meet the Teacher 6:00-7:00
  • Tuesday, August 23rd: First Day of School 7:55-3:10

2016 Flyers

Now Accepting Class Placement Letters for the 2016-2017 School Year

We will be accepting letters for Class Placements through June 3rd. Please be sure to let us know the characteristics of your child and the learning environment that you feel he/she works best. Please do not request specific teachers or placement with friends.

You may turn in your letters to our Secretary, Dana Shumake or email her at dana.shumake@kellerisd.net.

New Lunch Prices for Next Year - Take Note

K thru 6th grade lunches will increase from $2.65 to $2.70 or 5 cents.

7th thru 12th grade lunches will increase from $2.75 to $2.85 or 10 cents.
