What can a Growth mindset achieve you in life?
How to change your fixed mindset to a growth mindset
The problem is most people around the world have a fixed mindset. This is bad because the growth mindset people achieve in life. Since about 2007 there has been major technology around us and it’s changing the way we live we are now so dependent on technology to fix our problems there is little to no need to persevere anymore. We need to change this and this is how we will,
1. First, learn how to hear your own “voice”, everyone has a conscience whether they can hear it or not, we have to look inside ourselves, find it and listen to it.
2. Next, make your own choices, we are not controlled by anyone but us, we must embrace what we think and not let others influence us.
3. Approach adversity, when there is an obstacle always take the challenge even if you think you’re going to fail, even if you do fail you would learn from your from your mistakes.
4. Lastly, take your new growth mindset into action, use it in day to day activities, and you should have changed from more likely to be a petty fixed mindset person to a more likely successful person
Similarities between fixed and growth mindsets
What are the similarities and differences between fixed and growth mindsets? A disparity of the people around the world have fixed mindset. The growth mindset shows that there is an ability to learn, there is an ability to gain further knowledge, and on the other hand the fixed mindset is a person that believes there talents are carved into a stone. Say a typical, everyday 7th grade student fails on a test they would be frustrated and mad at themselves, but this differs from the 7th grade students with a growth mindset the students with a growth mindset when failing the test would use the test as something to learn from to know what to improve on. The fixed and growth mindset can be similar in ways to come. The fixed mindset has their talent carved into them, which the can progress to become greater at that talent, which is similar to the growth mindset which is to become greater at anything they strive for. In conclusion, the average human being has a fixed mindset, but overall the growth mindset is the path to choose.
How do you know if you have a fixed or growth mindset?
What are growth and fixed mindsets? “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work.”(Dweck, 2010). How this is similar or different from a fixed mindset, but what is a fixed mindset? “In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort. They’re wrong.” (Dweck, 2010).
For example, the people with a growth mindset like to venture they explore the unknown and take risk when there’s a high possibility of failing. Characteristics of a growth mindset are kind, dare-taking, ventures. Then there's the fixed mindset, for instance a fixed mindset person would believe they can’t discover anything new, they would think there talents were already embedded in them.
