E-books come to Peak School!
Books return automatically after 2 weeks, so there will be no reminders for unreturned overdue books! They may be accessed on any computer or portable reading device including ipads, phones and e-readers (except Kindles).
We are pleased to say that we have seen quite a bit of usage on the site already and as we build the e-book library we are sure to see more. We are delighted to be able to offer yet another way to get access to great stories!

Hong Kong Young Writers Awards 2016
The Hong Kong Young Writers Award is an annual writing competition for students of all ages. Every year, a theme is selected and students submit work in 4 categories: Fiction, Non Fiction, Poetry and Cover Art. Within the Primary division there are two groups: Group 1 (Yr 1-3) and Group 2 (Yr 4-6). This year, registration is double last year's, with schools in Macau and mainland China entering, so the competition will be tight!
We encourage those young writers or illustrators who seriously want to submit a piece to come to the Library for more information and help in making their submissions the best that they can be. Finalists get their work published in the Anthology (pictured here from last year).
Last year we had 2 finalists, and the year prior to that Peak School saw 4 finalists in each category.

Learning Research Skills
From finding information in books with the Index, to using keywords to get the right facts from the internet, or finding the best search engines and learning note-taking skills, even the youngest pupils can grasp the basics. Research skills are something they will need for the rest of their lives and it is never too early to start.
