New to Moodle
New courses are not automatically created for you; you will need to email your campus Instructional Technologist. Please be specific with the name of your course. Once your course is set up, this video tutorial should help you with the very basic beginning steps.
Want to take a "class" on Moodle?
The Blended Learning summer PD course has been converted to a self-paced online course for all educators titled Blended Learning using Moodle. This is a great resource containing descriptions and how-to videos on various topics from setting up your course template components, to managing dates and upcoming events in the calendar block, to creating activities within Moodle for instant feedback and connection to in-class activities. This course is designed to serve as a support tool rather than a must-do. Self-enrollment key: eaton

NISD Technology Proficiencies
At Northwest ISD, we believe that technology enables us to extend our reach and become more effective, relevant, and connected educators. In order to ensure that our staff is prepared to thrive in this environment, we have two required technology proficiency courses in place:
Proficiency 1 — Foundations of Technology — establishes a foundation of technology, exposes educators to tools we have in NISD, and provides a brief overview of what to expect in our district. This course is to be completed within one year of hire. Enroll in Moodle: http://moodle.nisdtx.org/course/view.php?id=10995
Proficiency 2 — Technology Integration Academy (TIA) — provides opportunities for educators to reflect on best practices through the use of technology. This course is to be completed within three years of hire. Fall Cohort will open on Aug 29: http://moodle.nisdtx.org/course/view.php?id=12519
