Macbeth Act 5, Scene 5
1979 version by Trevor Nunn VS. 2010 version by Rupert Goold
Compare and Contrast
The 1979 version and the 2010 version are both very different. they have some similarities but mostly they are not the same. Compared to the book the 1979 version is more accurate then the 2010 version because in that version Macbeth seemed to care less than the Macbeth from the 2010 version that his wife died. The version I like the best was the 1979 version because it was more accurate to the book.
Difference
One difference I noticed is is the setting of the scene, the 2010 version the scene takes place in an underground tunnel, the 1979 version it seems to take place in a dark room with nothing at all in it.
Difference
Another difference I noticed is the lighting of the scene. In the 1979 version the scene is dark with a spotlight on Macbeth, the 2010 version the lighting is bright everywhere and not focused on anything.
Similarity
One similarity that I noticed is the mode of the scene. The mood of both versions is indifference. In both scenes you see that Macbeth doesn't really care that his wife died.
