7th Grade ELA

In 7th grade English Language Arts, the students are continuing to read The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis. The students are working on a creative character project to encourage them to think abstractly about the development of the characters throughout the novel.

Karl's Birds

Thanks to an eagle-eyed 8th grader, we found out that we have a few new additions to our courtyard. These little babies will forever be known as "Karl's Birds", named after their discoverer.

Diversity Club Celebrates Cinco de Mayo!

The Diversity Club celebrated Cinco De Mayo! Throughout the middle school hall, there were several facts to help educate UAMS on the origins of the celebration.

Wrestler goes to the Heartland National Duals

On April 2nd, 2021 8th grader Mason Keiper qualified to compete in Monroeville, Pa at the Keystone State Championship Wrestling Tournament. He competed in 187lb, 7th, 8th and 9th grade bracket. He ended up placing 8th at states out of the 32 kids in his bracket.

On April 17th and 18th Mason wrestled with Silver Team Pa, at the Heartland national duals in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was super excited to represent Pennsylvania at the 195lb weight class where his team took 2nd out of about 40+ teams from states all over the United States.

Our AMAZING Art Students!

First 3 photos: Unified Art peers and mentors work together as teams to draw as many circle-shaped objects as possible. They are competing against other teams in the class. The winning team will pick our in-class movie for next week.
