Why Do People Like Pokémon?

Some reasons people like Pokémon

Intro

There are many reasons why people like Pokémon. Some like the games, but not the actual characters. Some people think that Pokémon are cute, while some think they are ugly. There are 802 Pokémon in total excluding Mega Evolutions and Alolan forms, which I will talk about later on. So let’s get started!

Pokémon Go

Pokémon go was a viral game released last year. It was 3rd place last year in the whole world for having so many downloads. Now, there are some rumors that are going around that Niantic Inc., the creator of Pokémon Go, are terrorists. Iran has banned Pokémon Go from that country. Still, there are many people who still love the game, but it has gone down to 16th place in rating. This is one of the reasons people love Pokemon.

How they look

One of the most obvious reasons why people like Pokémon is because they think that Pokémon look really cool or cute to them. Different people have different opinions. One Pokémon, called Garchomp, is very big and fierce. On the other hand, a Pokémon called Eevee is small and cute, preferred by boys and girls alike. Pokemon also evolve. When a Pokémon evolves, it changes form. One Pokémon that has a very different evolution that doesn’t look like itself is called Charmander. It is a very well known starter Pokémon. Its final evolution, Charizard (Excluding Mega Evolution) looks very different to Charmander.

Mega Evolutions and Alolan Forms

Mega evolutions, which are very rare amongst Pokémon, need a mega stone for the Pokémon to hold, and a key stone, which allows the trainer to let the Pokémon mega evolve. Two Pokémon, Charizard and Mewtwo, have two mega evolutions. They have one version X(Mega Charizard X and Mega Mewtwo X) and one version Y(Mega Charizard Y and Mega Mewtwo Y). But mainly, Pokémon have 1 mega evolution. Now, onto Alolan forms. There is a new Pokémon game called Pokemon Sun and Moon. It features and adventure through the new region, the Alolan Region. The Alolan Forms of Pokémon are from there. They are basically just the same Pokémon migrating to a different habitat and getting used to that habitat. Then they will change color or form in some way.

Conclusion

So, during this presentation we have learned about three reasons why people like Pokémon so much. The reasons are their looks, their games, and of course, their different forms, called evolutions. Do you like Pokémon, or not, and why?
