Notes from Coach Kim

It's crazy to think that JH Volleyball and Cross Country have already come to an end! I really enjoyed watching all of our athletes compete and grow during the course of the fall season. Both teams did amazing things at their league championships! Thank you again to all athletes, coaches, and parents that made this season such a success!

We are still looking for a JH Slow-Pitch Softball coach! If you, or anyone you know is interested, please have them give me a call at (719) 488-6245.

If you missed the deadline for JH Boys' Basketball and Girls' Softball registration, please contact Kimberly Carl. Athletes will not be allowed to tryout until their registration is complete. All traditional TCA students will need to register online and upload a current physical that will cover the entire sport season. All CP students will need to additionally upload an eligibility form (signed by Pam Steiner) and a D20 assignment letter as well. JH Cross Country

Wow!! Can I say that again... Wow!! This was a big race with big performances all around! TCA Titans dominated the stage at our League Championships last week! Winning 1st place overall, with all Divisions combined!!

Girls teams, both the 7th and 8th grade, took home 1st place trophies, and the boys teams, both 7th and 8th grade, were runners-up and brought home 2nd place plaques! We have some pretty sweet hardware to place in the JH trophy case next week!

This was the closest finish I have seen at the North Peak League Meet with the 8th grade boys teams only 1 point apart for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. (Eagleview 51, TCA 52 and DCC 53 points). I love having teams that challenge us to bring our best and that is what happened last week! Congratulations 8th grade boys for taking home the 2nd place plaque.

8th grade girls showed their amazing super power..."Winning"... again with a solid lead over Eagleview and Lewis-Palmer taking home the North Peak League Championship 1st Place win. Congratulations!!

7th grade boys have been working hard to get ahead of Lewis Palmer and held on to that lead along with moving a little closer to DCC closing that gap from 42 pts behind to only 25 pts behind 1st place. Congratulations 7th grade boys! We are very proud of that 2nd place win at Leagues.

7th grade girls made it clear they wanted to win and pulled together to make it happen! They claimed the North Peak League Championship 1st Place win which is crazy since we only have six 7th grade girls on the team. You have to have at least five runners to be able to compete as a team. Every one of them had to bring their best to make this happen. Congratulations!!

JH Football

JH football had another successful week! 8th grade boys pulled out another win over Mountain Ridge MS! The beginning of the game was an offensive showdown with both teams leading several scoring drives. In the second half, our TCA defense took over and caused several turnovers which resulted in scoring drives while shutting out Mountain Ridge.

The 7th grade game was a defensive battle. Our TCA Titans scored first and shutout Mountain Ridge until the 4th quarter. Neither team put together a scoring drive after that so we ended in a tie.

It was a cold, dreary day but it seemed not to bother our athletes! Great job Titans!

JH Volleyball

JH volleyball did not disappoint again last week! 8th grade volleyball had one of their closest matches of the regular season against Chinook Trail MS. Both matches were come from behind wins. It was an exciting and fun game to watch! They then competed in the NPAC League Tournament on Friday and Saturday. They won their first match against Elizabeth MS and won their second match against Mountain Ridge MS to advance to the championship match against Chinook Trail MS. Both sets of the championship were very close but Chinook Trail prevailed. Our Lady Titans were League Runners Up! Congratulations ladies!

The 7th grade team dropped their first match of the season to Chinook Trail but still ended up 7-1 which is very impressive!

JH Boys' Basketball

JH Boys' Basketball tryouts will take place October 3rd and 4th in the Aux. Gym. On October 3rd, 7th grade boys will tryout from 3:30-5:00 and 8th grade boys will tryout from 5:00 to 6:30. On October 4th, both 7th and 8th grade boys will tryout from 3:30-5:30. There will be a parent meeting following tryouts on October 4th in the Elementary Café at 5:45.

JH Girls' Softball tryouts will take place September 28th and 29th from 3:30-5:30 on the Softball Diamond. There will be a Parent Meeting on October 4th at 5:45 in the Elementary Café.
