Lunch Visitor Info

We are so happy to have lunch visitors!! Please note that New Hope does have a no outside food policy which is designed to support the Forsyth County School's Wellness Policy. Parents and guests are always welcomed as customers of the school’s nutrition program to eat with their student in the cafeteria. We hope to see you soon!

Afternoon Transportation Changes

By now, you have shared with your teacher how your student(s) will be going home each day. If you ever need to change your child's afternoon transportation, either temporarily or permanently, please complete the online form located here and also on our website under the Quick Links section. Our office staff monitors all submissions and notifies teachers directly of any changes made. Changes must be made before 1pm.

Please do not send a handwritten note regarding a transportation change to school with your child. These are sometimes misplaced in their backpack or not given to the teacher by the student. Additionally, emails sent directly to the teacher during instruction time regarding transportation changes may not be seen prior to dismissal.

Any question, please contact khays44@forsyth.k12.ga.us

Early Check Outs

No check outs are allowed after 1:45pm due to dismissal procedures beginning at that time. Thank you for planning accordingly.

Let's Get Moving!

Let's show the other elementary schools just how amazing our Nighthawks are! All Nighthawk families are invited to join the New Hope iChallenge team. The iChallenge is a 28-day virtual fitness event from October 3-31. Participants are encouraged to walk, run, bike, hike, waddle, and/or complete other fitness activities to create healthy habits. The first 1,700 people who register will receive a cooling headband, and winners receive additional prizes. Click here to watch a video about the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge!

Registration is now open. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP All registrations are tax deductible.

We hope to have lots of Nighthawks on our team, so make sure to invite your friends and family members to join us!

These 3 items can be picked up at the office. Also, please encourage your child to check the lost and found outside of the clinic for any lost jackets and water bottles. We have a lot as you can see from the picture below. Your child can check before or after lunch.

Walker Information

Reminders if your child will be walking to or from school:

  • If your child will be a walker in the afternoons, please complete a change of transportation form located here.so that we may inform their teacher.
  • All students must be supervised by an adult when walking to and from school.
  • In the morning, an adult must accompany the child(ren) to the flag pole at the main entrance. A staff member will greet the students and ensure they safety enter the building.
  • In the afternoon, an adult must wait at the flag pole with their student's car rider tag. Students will be brought to the flag pole similar to how car riders are walked to cars. If you do not have your school-assigned car tag, you will be asked to go to the office for a temporary tag once our car riders have been released.
  • Crosswalks are unable to be monitored by law enforcement during pickup and dismissal. Please use caution at all times!

Birthday Celebrations

At New Hope, we follow the Forsyth County School's policy of no outside food for birthday celebrations. We do, however, offer two special ways to celebrate your child's birthday at school! Read below for details!

Birthday Ice Cream Purchase Information!

Please remember that no outside food or drink is allowed for birthday celebrations at New Hope. However, a great way to celebrate your child's birthday at school is to purchase an ice cream treat from our cafeteria for each student in the class!

The cost is $35 per class/$15 for SI and Pre-K classes. Birthday ice cream may not be purchased using money on your child's lunch account or by sending in checks/cash with your student. It must be purchased using Mypaymentsplus.com. Please purchase birthday ice cream at least 2 school days in advance of when you would like the class to have the ice cream.

A Note From Nurse G

Health Conditions & Forms

Dear Parent/Guardian(s):

I am thrilled to start our first year here at New Hope Elementary! We have such a great team here ready to support your child.

If your child has a health condition that may require additional support while he/she is at school please make sure all necessary healthcare action plans have been completed and brought to the school. All forms needed to help me provide excellent care to your child while he/she is at school can be found on the school nurse page of the New Hope website or by clicking here.

Please have the forms filled out completely and returned to me as soon as possible so that we may make sure your child receives the continuity of care that he/she deserves. If your student requires medication to be kept at school, a Request for Administration of Medication form (1form for each medication) must also be completed. If your child has a condition that does not fall into a specific form please use the Individual Health Care Plan. In addition, please note most forms require both a physician’s signature and the parent/guardian’s.

Please be aware that any medication brought to the school should be done by the parent/guardian. No student is permitted to carry medication to or from school.

If a condition no longer applies to your child or does not require any medical intervention at school, please provide documentation from the physician stating such. Documentation must be received before any condition(s) may be removed from our system.

I know these form(s) can feel overwhelming. I appreciate you taking time to help me provide great care to your child. I look forward to seeing your student thrive this year! Please feel free to call me, at 678-965-5101 x562106, or email me, at gsampson@forsyth.k12.ga.us, if you have any questions or concerns.
