Week 3

I hope you all have a GREAT Labor Day weekend!!

Our word-a-day words for next week are: boost, barrier, recommend, and gratitude.

In Science, we are learning about animal adaptations. In Social Studies, the students created a map of Missouri on Google Drawings and labeled 6 cities and 2 rivers. We will have a test next week, and a study sheet will come home on Tuesday.

In Math, we continue with multiplication, division, and their "inverse operations", in that they "undo" each other.

Our reading focus this week was "Main Idea & Supporting Details."

The Bread Winner

We are still reading this aloud and enjoying it!

Hat's On for Cancer

On Friday, we will hold a "Hats On for Cancer" to raise money for the St Jude Run/Walk. As some of you may know, Mrs. Thweatt's son (Nicholas) was just moved to the St Jude Life program earlier this year! Mrs. Thweatt and Nicholas will participate in the walk this year. His goal is to raise $1,000. As a school, we are excited to help support him and share his story with our students. The kids know Nicholas, as he volunteers at our school (in the cafeteria) at times. Kids should bring .50 or any donation that day to wear a hat to school.

Wish List

  • Plain Cheerios (or generic). I keep a container of these in the classroom for kids who do not have a snack.
